The Chamber of Commerce, which represents more than 500 businesses in Jersey, had thrown its weight behind Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur, who wants to introduce a catch-all goods and services tax pitched at three per cent.
Today the States debate a proposition brought by Health Minister Stuart Syvret, who thinks that certain goods, including school fees, domestic fuel and medical supplies, should remain outside of GST.

And now the Chamber has backed him.
