£10,000 statue is stolen – and no one notices

The Housing department thought the the statue of doves – which marked the opening of the States flats in 1995 – was away being cleaned, but admitted that the department ‘had not thought about it’ until a resident called them in August.

After investigating the matter last month, States services officer Rad Montgomery now believed that it was taken in June or July when the flats were being repainted.
