Campaign moves up a gear

Tomorrow, BBC Breakfast will show a two-and-a-half minute feature all about the Jersey Evening Post/Jersey Telecom campaign, featuring JEP journalist Kathryn Lundy and Jersey resident Paul Newman, who helped to kick off the initiative two weeks ago.

Yesterday BBC journalists Julia George and Neil Paton were in the Island to find out more about the campaign, launched with the full backing of the States of Jersey Police, to stop drivers using their mobile phones.

Reporter Kathryn Lundy said: ‘Obviously we are a small community, but we as a newspaper have a massive reach.

In one week, around 97 per cent of Island adults will see a copy of our paper.

How can they not sit up and take notice?’
