VOLLEYBALL: Results from yesterday’s Insurance Corporation Volleyball League matches at Haute Vallée were as follows: Mixed League – Usual Suspects bt Jersey Post Juniors 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12); Walkers bt ABN Ambro 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-8).

Ladies League: 2e2 Panthers bt Jets 3-2 (21-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, 15-12).

Jackson Fox Panthers bt Eastern 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-18).

CLAY TARGET: Jon de la Haye won High Gun at the Lecq Clay Target Club’s 50-bird sporting competition yesterday, but his score of 41 was just one better that 16-year-old junior member Tony Ward.

Dave Le Rendu shared Class A with Ashley Le Sech, both recording 39, while Stephen Stokes won Class B with 35.

Mark Davey took Class C with 35 while Kay Cragg was top lady on 23.

GOLF: Richard Cornick won the Demi GS’s November Monthly Medal, over the St Clement course on Saturday, carding a net 53 off his 11 handicap, five shots ahead of Robert Smith’s net 58 off 21 handicap.

WHIPPET RACING: For the first time in the Jersey Whippet Racing Club’s 120-year history, racing was held on a Saturday morning.

Six two-dog teams raced against each other over 100 yards in a round-robin competiton for the Entro Pairs Trophy at the club’s La Moye track.

After 15 Cassandra (owned by Jeff and Zoe Tennet) and Cabury (David Lawson) topped the points table.

Second overall was the Team of Sprite (the oldest runner at 11 years, owned by Una la Ruez) and Coyote (Steve Lawson).

CLAY TARGET: Results from yesterday’s Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s 50-bird sporting practice at Crabbé were: High Gun: Peter Quimby 44 ex 50; A Class: Bob Brown 40; B Class: William Loom 41; C Class: Craig Marett 35.

MOTORCYCLE TRIALS: Results from yesterday’s Jersey Classic and Modern Trials Club event at Valley Farm, St Peter, were: Juniuor Small wheel: Robert Pallot; Junior B: Ben Rive; C Route: James Carrel; B Route: Oliver du Feu; Pre 65 Premier: Graham du Feu: A Route: Adam Le Cheminant.

GOLF: Trevor Robinson won the St Clement’s GC VA Jarret Eclectic competition on Saturday with a net score of 23 and a half – one ahead of second placed Mitch Briand.

VOLLEYBALL: Despite losing their first match 3-2 to Wiltshire Mavericks at Oaklands Community School, Southampton, at the weekend, the men’s Island volleyball team won their second fixture, against Devon Kernow, 3-0 yesterday.
