For the past 15 years the Union Street office has offered free, impartial and confidential advice to anyone interested in setting up their own enterprise, but the future of its funding has been unclear in recent months.
Last week Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf praised JBV’s role as ‘a vital support service’ and said it was important that the service should remain independent from government influence.
And launching the new Enterprise and Business Development Strategy, Economic Development’s chief officer, Mike King, said the work of JBV was ‘absolutely complementary’ to the department’s plans.
