The show’s ribbon was cut yesterday by the Lieut-Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway, after a short speech in praise of the huge amount of time and effort that has gone into organising the event.
He said: ‘The show looks terrific, and I would like to congratulate all those who have taken part.
‘This is a really important event, both for the Island and for the economy, and it has clearly been a success in previous years both in Jersey and Guernsey.
‘I am confident that this year’s show will be just as successful as those.’
