The 30 artists – 15 of them from the south-west region of England and 15 from the Island, all aged from 17 to 25 – were invited by the Prince’s Trust to take part at the newly refurbished Sounds Work-shop in La Motte Street.
Similar projects are run across Britain by the youth charity to give young musicians the opportunity to work with professional musicians and tutors.
They use music to engage with young people who are unemployed and not in full-time education, supporting them to develop their skills and confidence to work towards a positive future.
The Prince’s Trust was launched in Jersey earlier this year and is run in the Island by the Youth Service.
Emma Adamson (19), a vocalist from Wincanton in Somerset, said that she had been involved in reggae and rock workshops.
