Senator Syvret told the Social Affairs panel that the new GP co-operative – which provides health care for Islanders outside working hours – was a ‘huge leap forward’.
He was quick to defend his decision to grant £86,000 to the scheme, arguing that it marked a new era of GPs and Health and Social Services working together.
‘There has been a need for many years for a greater degree of co-operation amongst social care providers in the Island, and the development of this service has been a huge step forward.
