Quentin Charles Cooper was found hunched on his bedroom floor in May after taking an overdose by accident.

He had been poisoned after injecting himself with the contents of a painkiller patch.

An investigation is now being carried out into the availability of fentanyl patches by Jersey’s medical officer of health.

The inquest heard that the drug can be 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and the patches can be prescribed by doctors to help make conditions like back pain less severe.
