A collection was held in the executive boxes at the match at Stamford Bridge toward the £35,000 cost of the operation for Emilia Zubek, who is nearly two.
Girls wearing t-shirts bearing a picture of Emilia’s face collected money.
Two of them, Victoria Jaworskyj and Naomi Musolino, said the response was fantastic.
‘It was probably the best collection we have ever done.
People were very generous,’ said Miss Jaworskyj.
The final total was expected to be revealed at some point later today.
It will be given to the William and Helena Tayor Trust run by Colin Taylor, who owns the Foresters Inn at Beaumont.
If Emilia is to have a chance of a normal life, she needs an operation to rebuild her oesophagus that can only be performed by a specialist doctor in Vienna.
