Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf told States Members that the ramp permits had been extended until the end of next year to give the company ‘operational certainty’.
He said that earlier this year he published a new air and sea transport policy which set out the approach Economic Development wanted to adopt for securing the Island’s sea routes.
He said this had been done against the background of the current service level agreement (SLA) and ramp permit for the northern route expiring at the end of this year.
However, since then he ordered a full investigation of port and ferry services under the Competition (Jersey) Law and said the report was due before the end of the year.
