The charity will then be given the option to renew the lease of the shop, which is opposite the Trafalgar Hotel, if the venture proves to be a success.
The shop will be managed during that period by Natasha Jones and run with the help of other volunteers.
Hospice fund-raising manager Richard Harwood said that it was extremely generous of the shop’s owners to allow them free use of the premises during the run-up to Christmas.
‘We hope that there will be plenty of women looking for a special outfit who can help to raise money for a good cause at the same time,’ he said.
