For their wedding anniversary last month, the couple bought a new car and, by chance, the number plate MI5 JSY was available to go with it.
‘We’ve only had the car about a week and our relatives have had a laugh at it.
It’s purely by chance that we got that registration number,’ said Mrs MacEke.
‘I saw in the dealership that they had the number plate JER 53Y but it was very expensive, but the woman there said that she had the plate M15 JSY, so I said let’s have it for our wedding anniversary.’ Mrs MacEke said that if people do not notice the number plate, the ‘Pride in Jersey’ stickers on the back windscreen should make their affection for the Island obvious.
