The higher than average temperatures began with the third warmest June and second warmest July on record.

August was disappointing but September was the fifth warmest and October equal warmest in a long series of records at the Maison St Louis Observatory stretching back to 1894.

November has been another near record breaking month.

The mean daily temperature of 11.3?C was 1.7 degrees above the long-term St Louis average, ranking it the equal third warmest alongside November 1938.

The only warmer Novembers were in 1994 with 12?C and 2002 with 11.5?C.

When the autumn months of September, October and November are considered together, the mean temperature was 15.1?C.

This smashes the previous record of 14.5?C set in the autumn of 1959.

The autumn temperature has only exceeded 14?C in five previous years.

Provisional figures also suggest that this November will be the sunniest on record at the Airport and the second or third sunniest at Fort Regent, where sunshine has been recorded since 1925.
