Throughout December States and honorary officers will be working together to target people who get behind the wheel after having too much to drink.
As well as an advertising campaign highlighting that drink-driving can kill, officers will place bunches of flowers at roadsides around the Island to remind people of the potentially sobering consequences of their actions.
Insp Sara Garwood, who is leading the campaign on behalf of the States police, said that although roadside checks were conducted throughout the year, they were being stepped up over the festive period.
