Senator Frank Walker said that a long-held desire by the States to build such facilities was finally being addressed and that funding had already been put aside.
At the moment there is a temporary enclosed arena to cater for the Island’s first Wheel Jam festival – a week-long event of open sessions, professional demonstrations and skateboard competitions.
However, Senator Walker said that he had always believed that with the huge popularity of the sport in the Island, youngsters needed a safe, enclosed and permanent fixture.
