That was the message presented recently by Phil Balderson, founder of Jersey firm Webreality, who explained the blogging basics using the ‘Six Thinking Hats’ formula devised by Edward de Bono.
‘Like it or not, people will be blogging about your organisation, and you need to know what they are saying about you,’ said Mr Balderson.
A former schoolteacher, he soon had participants working together to express what they knew – or did not know – about blogging and their fears, their objections and its possible uses.
On a worldwide scale, there are 55 million blogs now on the internet and an estimated 200 to 300 million readers.
Basically a blog consists of one person’s thoughts about anything at all.
It is regularly updated and readers can respond to it by ‘posting’ their own ideas.
