Entry to the Division V tournament, scheduled to be held between April and June 2008, was one of the rewards Jersey gained from finishing second in the European Division II tournament in Scotland last summer.

Jersey, with their excellent grass pitches, will be bidding to host the tournament, which will also feature Norway, Afghanistan, Nepal and Argentina playing in Group A.

Jersey’s Group B will be completed by one from Cook Islands, Indonesia, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu.

Jersey will receive financial assistance from the ICC to prepare and compete in the World Cricket League.

This won’t be Jersey’s seniors next international competition, however, as they will host both Guernsey and France in a triangular tournament from July 13 to 15 next year.
