Horizon Trustees (Suisse) SA has been set up with a so far anonymous but ‘long-standing’ business partner and will initially focus on fiduciary services.
Horizon director David Francis has been appointed non-executive chairman of the Swiss company but will continue to be based in Jersey.
Martin Bowen is the managing director.
He was a director at Rothschild in Switzerland but, before that, spent over 20 years at Coutts, including a spell in Jersey.
Julie McClafferty has moved from Coutts in Geneva to join the company as a director.
She has over 15 years’ experience in the trust sector and was based in Jersey before she went to Switzerland.
The new company will operate from offices in the city’s business area.
