Among those delighted that ecycle has given ‘extra life’ to her unwanted goods is Gloria Truman from St Clement.

When she decided to have the lounge in her flat redecorated and to buy new furniture, she advertised a selection of goods she no longer wanted in the ecycle columns.

Among them was a vacuum cleaner which was only just over a year old.

‘The cleaner failed to pick up all the stray hairs from my cat Bonnie, so I needed to buy another model which did a better job,’ she said.

What she did not expect, however, was the 45 telephone calls she received from those eager to accept the vacuum cleaner.

‘A mother and her daughter came to collect it and were delighted to have it,’ she said.

All the items Mrs Truman ecycled went to those grateful for their use.
