They will now be charged in court.

Four shop owners in the parish were taken to court last year – and two pub landlords and a shop owner were cautioned at the Town Hall.

But none of the members of staff who had sold drink to the youngsters in these cases was taken to court.

They were all dealt with at the Town Hall.

When the Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, brought that fact to the Licensing Assembly’s attention last week, he was urged to make sure that staff who had sold the alcohol as well as guilty licence-holders were taken to court in future.
