Where was the thank you for all the help?

From D Gibaut.

ON reading the JEP of 3 January my attention was drawn to two items, both involving families who had been involved with fires in the home.

The first was a letter from a family at Clos Gosset who were full of praise and a big thank-you to everyone who had helped them in their hour of need, from the emergency services to friends and States Housing.

The other concerned a Portuguese family who were involved in the Broadlands fire. Help and assistance arrived from all directions, and there was even emergency accommodation from the Housing department.

Nowhere in this article did I detect one word of thanks or appreciation from this family for all the help they have received.

Housing Minister Terry Le Main and his staff are taking the right action to remove this family, who appear to be milking the goodwill they have received from this Island.
