JERSEY’S U15 girls showed blazing form in last weekend’s hockey inter insular – finding four sensational goals to stun a strong Guernsey opposition at Claremont pitch.
The Jersey Secondary Schools Sports Association squad wrapped the match at 4-0 with fantastic strikes from Minnie Taylor, Louise Mollet (2) and Iona Harvey. Taylor took Guernsey by surprise with an early goal scored in the opening minutes, and Jersey showed dominance from the off.
Jersey coach Sarah Smith said: ‘This was an amazing result for Jersey after the last three years’ losing in both age groups. I was extremely proud of all the players.
‘They have worked hard for the last few months preparing for this fixture and I could not have asked more of them on the day. They thoroughly deserve the victory and they showed great promise for the future.’
