YOUNG people from all denominations or those searching for faith are being invited on a special trip to a Christian community in France.
Organised by Catholic Pastoral Services, the trip – between 12 and 20 April – will be a chance for young people aged 15-30 to meet others from around the world in Taizé, Burgundy.
Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community of brothers and every year over 100,000 young people from across the world make the trip for prayer, Bible study and communal work.
Groups from Jersey have been to Taizé before and Mary Cahill, pastoral assistant for youth in the Catholic Church (pictured), said that the feedback has always been very positive with people reporting a feeling of calm and inner peace while on the trip.
She invited anyone interested in attending to go along to a special meeting on Monday 2 February to get a ‘taste of Taizé’. The meeting will be between 7 pm and 9 pm in the upper youth room at St Thomas’ Hall, Val Plaisant and Mrs Cahill can be contacted by e-mailing pastoralservices@hotmail.co.uk or by telephone on 07797 742767.
