A JERSEY cow called Dolly is thought to be one of the oldest alive after reaching the grand old age of 37 at a UK rescue centre.
Dolly was due to be slaughtered nearly 20 years ago, but when Mike Taylor saw her he thought she was so appealing that he handed over £400 to give her a reprieve.
The lucky Jersey cow moved into the spacious Mistley Place Park Animal Rescue centre in England which Mike runs with his wife Maureen and other members of his family.
Over the years Dolly has had a relaxing life in the parkland, where she shares a paddock and a stable with a French cow called Smartie and a shire horse.
