Hundreds head for St Peter

JERSEY RFC under-19s bid to reach the fifth round of the National Colts Plate for the second successive season tomorrow.

Hopes are high after their excellent performance away to Sidcup in round four last month, particularly as they have home advantage at St Peter. But their opponents, Rochford Hundreds RFC, are travelling in force with a party of around 80 and after huge victories over the likes of Cambridge and Harlow, they will undoubtedly feel confident of reaching the last 16.

But Jersey, despite having to call on a huge number of players due to injury and unavailability this season, have put together a strong squad once again, right from players with first team experience like Ed Dawson (pictured), Michael Le Bourgeois, Joe Ellyatt and Mark Livesey down to U16s Scott Vandervliet, Aaron Young and Andrew Pitcher, who were drafted in earlier this week.

Once again Jersey will have several players flying back in from the UK to boost their cause – Will Hunter, Stephen Phelan, Alistair Dickson and Ollie Harwood. A big home crowd is expected with the Jersey squad determined to put on another good performance, having disposed of Twickenham in some style at St Peter in an earlier round. The match starts at 1.45 pm.
