The U12s won 16-8 and the U15s 15-9 to give a final 31-17 score line in Jersey’s favour. Guernsey, because of late withdrawals from Jersey, sportingly allowed the home team to field one slightly older girl in each age group (both just missing the cut off date by a few months) but this probably had little impact upon the overall result.
Jersey’s team manager Kim Jespersen said: ‘There were some tremendous matches that were played in a good spirit – and full credit to Guernsey who never gave up, especially their young and inexperienced Girls in the Under 12s.’
