SENATOR Freddie Cohen will be the guest speaker at this month’s Institute of Directors lunch club.

The Environment Minister will speak about the importance of ‘planning in the downturn’ at the lunch, which is being held at the Grand Hotel on Tuesday.

Senator Cohen will look at how planning responds to the current economic climate and how this is balanced against long-term environmental obligations.

IoD chairman Gary Drinkwater said: ‘We are delighted to have Senator Cohen speaking and are confident that the topicality of his talk will be of interest to our members.

‘Senator Cohen is at the forefront of a number of key projects locally, including the planning of the Waterfront development, which all have a direct or indirect effect on a number of industries in the Island.’
