JERSEY’S finance industry has been lobbying for recognition from some of the largest global economies.
Representatives from Jersey Finance last week visited the OECD in Paris to discuss a consultation document on the taxation of wealthy individuals.
The OECD issued the consultation paper on its High Net Worth Project at the end of last year, based on the findings of a focus group which examined the resources allocated to taxation of the wealthiest and ways ‘to encourage tax payers with undisclosed assets or income to come forward’.
The chief executive of Jersey Finance, Geoff Cook, said that Jersey had already sent a written response to the consultation.
