Tourist attractions fly the green flag

THREE tourism businesses have been given a silver rating in a pilot study to determine how environmentally friendly companies in the Island’s industry are.

In a study financed by the Tourism Development Fund, 14 local tourism operations, including Jersey Tourism, have been assessed for the Green Tourism Business Scheme in terms of energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and other related criteria.

The results announced so far show that the visitor attraction aMaizin! Adventure Park and Maze, activity providers Jersey Adventures and Jersey Kayak Adventures have been awarded a silver grading. Bronze ratings have been awarded to Jersey War Tunnels, the Merton Hotel and the Creepy Valley Activity Centre.
