INTERNATIONAL cycle racing is to return to the streets of St Helier early this summer.
Sunday 24 May is a date to enter into diaries as the Island’s cycling fraternity will stage a series of races in the Town centre for elite riders and cyclists in categories one through to four. Jersey’s leading riders will rub shoulders with British Cycling Federation licence holders and it’s sure to be a fantastic spectacle with the start/finish line outside St Helier’s Town Hall.
From the start the field will then turn right to pass Cyril Le Marquand House before turning right down Halkett Street against the current one-way system. Riders will continue past the former Woolworths store and then turn right down Hill Street where they will make their way down to the Weighbridge. It’s right again across the front of the Pomme d’Or Hotel and then into Conway Street and Broad Street and back to the Town Hall.
