ELEVEN times British champion Steve Saunders won his fourth consecutive Jersey Two-Day Trial title last weekend.

At the Jersey Classic & Modern Trials Club’s Wholesale Electrics sponsored event, Saunders dominated the Expert class dropping just 30 points on the 31 sections over both days. The sections consisted mainly of rocky outcrops, streams and wooded areas. There was a time limit of six hours on both days with sections held at Bouley Bay, Les Platons and Rozel on Saturday and at Valley Farm, Mont Rossignol and Le Mourier Valley on Sunday.

Saunders, who runs his own trials school, was one of 40 visiting riders and he comfortably won his section from Guernsey’s Tom Scott, 81 points, and Jersey’s Adam Le Cheminant, 107 points.

Club chairman Graham du Feu, who was top rider in the Pre 65 Premier Class with just 15 points dropped, said: ‘It was another hugely successful weekend and we are delighted. Visiting numbers were similar to last year and most of the class winners were out on their own and the expected winners.’
