BRITAIN’S Katie O’Brien, who beat Guernsey’s Heather Watson on Thursday, has made it through to the semi-finals of the Caversham International Tennis tournament being held at Les Ormes.
The former British No 1 secured her place with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 victory over Australia’s Monique Adamczak yesterday afternoon and will now face No 1 seed Stephanie Foretz who beat Ana Vrljic of Croatia 7-5, 6-2.
Tournament director Hugh Raymond said that although Foretz is clear favourite going into today’s match, O’Brien is not out of the running yet in what he expects to be a fiery match.
‘Katie had a very confident win yesterday and when I spoke to her after the match she was very much looking forward to the semi-final,’ he said.
