JERSEYMAN Brett Pitman scored his first Coca-Cola League Two hat-trick on Saturday as he hauled Bournemouth to a 4-0 victory over promotion-chasing Rochdale at Dean Court.

The win further cements the club’s superb late effort to avoid relegation after having been deducted 17 points at the start of the season for breaking the league’s financial rules. They are now two places and four points clear of a relegation spot in the Blue Square Conference

Pitman (21), a former Victoria College student and First Tower and St Paul’s junior, gets to keep the match ball for firing in his 12th, 13th and 14th league goals of the season.

It was all the better for having his father, former Muratti striker Brent, there to watch the game.
