MORE police powers to keep track of paedophiles could be approved before the summer.
Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand said that getting a Sex Offenders Law in place was his first priority.
However, he said that the law could not be brought in until funds were found. The proposed law would enable the police to keep tabs on those who have been convicted of sex crimes.
Senator Le Marquand and Homes Affairs chief officer Steven Austin-Vautier were being questioned by scrutiny panel chairman Roy Le Hérissier, St John Constable Graeme Butcher and Deputies Montfort Tadier and Trevor Pitman.
