It was a memorable night both on and off the pitch, with St Peter beating St John 5-3 in the over-40s match organised in memory of former St John player Mr Lee, who died aged 38 after collapsing during a game between the two sides in January.
Organiser Nigel Perrée, the president of St John FC, said: ‘It was a great occasion and there was a very good turn-out.
‘Before the match the players came out to the theme from Z Cars, as Jayson was a huge Everton fan and that’s the song they come out to. His family were presented to the players, then we had a group photograph taken and following that was a minute’s silence. ‘
