Jersey RFC beat Bishop’s Stortford 25-15 on Saturday, in their final game of their first season in London 1 Division.

THE telling moment in the game, played at St Peter against sixth-placed Bishop’s Stortford, was Mitch Burton’s towering drop kick to the right of the posts from 35 yards out with ten minutes to play.

The ball cleared the middle section of the posts majestically, and the 500-strong crowd recognized that in one single instance the game was won.

The result underlined Jersey’s third place in the table.
