As a result, the club – which has been in existence for over 25 years – will be disbanded and those players still wanting to take part in the league will have to find new clubs to join.
The club only had ten players for this season, and coupled with increasing work commitments for the players – the majority of who are teachers – the team would not be able to meet its fixtures for the season.
Club secretary and treasurer Peter Glennon explained: ‘Our biggest problem is that teachers, who make up most of our team, are having to have more and more meetings after school and people just can’t play all of the games.’
