In the Island on a whistle stop visit yesterday, helping raise funds for the Variety Club of Jersey, Guernseyman Le Tissier said the past few weeks had been horrible and heartbreaking.
The battle to buy Southampton is believed to be a two-horse race with the Pinnacle Group having the backing of the Sarnian, who won eight England caps and scored 162 goals in 443 appearances for Southampton.
Le Tissier said: ‘The money men are taking a look at the business model and we should know very soon if it is successful and if it is we will take it from there.
