This photograph is labelled as being taken at such a ball in June 1938 and has been sent in by Mr G Fenton, of St Brelade.
He writes that the ball was held at the West Park Pavilion and featured the regiment of Sherwood Foresters, who were over from Guernsey.

Second row (from left): 2nd Lt G Fenton, unknown, Gordon Rice (who, writes Mr Fenton, was the first English solicitor in Jersey), Anne Halton (the daughter of the government secretary and married to Dr Lewis, who wrote a book about Jersey during the Occupation), Johnny Crill (the older brother of the former Bailiff, Sir Peter Crill).
