Elliott, who won gold medals in the individual road race and team time trial in Brisbane, Australia, in 1982 will be vying for British Cycling points at the Rubis Jersey Town Criterium on Sunday afternoon.
Still racing professionally after 19 years, although he took a break between 1997 and 2002, the Sheffield born rider continues to impress racing regularly for the CandiTV-Pinarello team.
Among his biggest challengers on Sunday in the 55-minute plus three laps race, which starts at 4.15 pm, are members of the Sports Beans team – winners of the three-day Girvan Cycle Race over 225 miles of Ayrshire and Galloway at Easter.
Race winner Marcin Bialoblocki and his team colleagues, including former National Vets road race champion Ben Luckwell – an Olympian, Commonwealth medallist and three times Milk Race stage winner – will also be up against pro riders from the Swedish team managed by Magnus Bäckstedt, an ex-Swedish pro rider.
