While there, athletes and officials alike will be doing as much as they can to encourage the other 24 islands to vote Jersey as the host for the 2015 Games.
The Jersey contingent, including officials, amounts to around 240 people and they can expect high quality sporting facilities, according to organisers.
Yesterday the team gathered at the Merton Aquadome to show off their new kit – complete with ‘Vote for Jersey’ logos down the arms – and to take part in the traditional team photo, as well as meeting representatives from sponsors Jersey Post.
During a speech made to the competitors last night, the chairman of the 2015 Bid Committee, Phil Austin, told the athletes that they will play an important role in helping to bring the Games to Jersey.
