St Helier Deputy Jackie Hilton organised the meeting so that residents could discuss an application to build 28 first-time buyer homes and 26 social rented flats in field 1248.

At the meeting residents said that they were most concerned about the traffic implications, the access road to the proposed development and the fact that the field used to be an agricultural field.

Deputy Hilton spoke to the residents and thanked them for coming, before outlining the background behind the application. ‘The field should be reviewed properly within the Island Plan review,’ she said. ‘I am not sure the need has been shown. Only half the first-time buyer homes at Goose Green marsh have been sold.’
