The prosecution case against a couple alleged to have abused children they cared for in a States’ home in the 1980s will not be reopened, William Bailhache has announced.

And there will be no charges brought against a man, now middle-aged, who was alleged to have committed abuse, including offences of a serious sexual nature, in the 1970s and 1980s.

It is understood that there are still a number of outstanding cases which investigating officers have left with the Attorney General.
