Island coach Andrews was nominated by the Jersey Netball Association for the grass roots coach award at this year’s Goalden Globes because of her longstanding commitment to Jersey netball.
And if she wins the regional award she will then go on to represent the south-west at the national awards in September.
The grassroots coach award is a new introduction to the Globes this year and recognises the outstanding contribution of a coach who gets more people engaging, growing and staying in netball through high quality coaching.
JNA president, Jackie Nelson, said the Association had nominated Andrews, who also coaches Convent, because she epitomises everything the award stands for. ‘This award is purely for her work with the Island, and she has been our top Jersey coach for many years,’ she said.
