Based at Le Salon in Colomberie, the hairdressers opened at 8 am and donated all proceeds from that day’s special £25 cut and blow dry.
The newly crowned Miss Battle of Flowers, Lucy O’Sullivan, stopped in to support the event and a raffle was also held.
Ali Hudson, from Aruba Hair Salon, said: ‘We are so aware of cancer on a daily basis so we wanted to give something back.
‘The event had great support not only from the hairdressers at Aruba, Le Salon, Hair Central, Rio and Planet Hair who came in to cut hair but also from all the salons who donated money to the event and Cancerbackup who helped us on the day.’
