Jersey Telecom has announced that speeds of up to eight megabytes will be achievable for both domestic and business subscribers. The specific launch date and pricing details will be revealed early in July.
At the end of last year, JT carried out a trial with 100 customers of the new 8 Mbyte service.
The majority of those who took part in the trial reported that the new speeds were ‘significantly better’ than the standard 2 Mbyte service currently available.
JT managing director Tim Ringsdore said customers would be able to choose from 2 Mbyte, 4 Mbyte and 8 Mbyte options to suit how they used the internet.
