Jersey have a good record against Ireland, but the Irish have improved over the last few years, so it was a major fillip for home supporters when Jersey took a 34-31 lead after five ends, and powered further ahead by ten ends.
Indeed, at 63-44, Jersey looked poised to win their first match of the series, and to push their opponents into the wooden spoon spot – but it was not to be, because Ireland appeared to find second wind in the second half, and won, 109-101.
