Up to 360 businesses went along to the Business-2-Business evening at the Hotel de France. Each ‘couple’ was allocated two minutes to introduce themselves.
‘The bar was still open up to 10 pm and we were supposed to close at 6 pm,’ said Sean Pritchard of Jersey Enterprise. ‘It was really well-attended.’
Mr Pritchard said that from the feedback received, it was particularly helpful for firms to meet people they would not normally encounter.
‘Sometimes a small business will not contact a larger organisation because they think it will be too expensive, but if someone comes up and taps you on the shoulder you don’t know who you will be speaking to. It was a level playing field and it was different from, say, a breakfast club because people were forced to move about.
‘We are organising another one in September because this is what the industry wanted. No one was shy and it really worked.’
