The 18- and 13-year-old were stopped by Customs officers when they stepped off the boat from Weymouth.
States Vet Linda Lowseck was called to the Harbour after the border collies were found in the boot of a car and she impounded them to the Animals Shelter. The men left the Island without the dogs but were arrested at the Harbour on Thursday when they returned to collect them.
Patrick O’Ryan (18), from Ireland, will appear before the Magistrate next Friday, 24 July, charged with two offences under the Animal Welfare (Jersey) Law. The 13-year-old was released from police custody.
